Not a big story in a game when 4th ranked Finnish Joensuun Kataja (0-4) was defeated on the road by top-ranked French JSF Nanterre (4-0) 102-92 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by JSF Nanterre. Joensuun Kataja was better in second period 28-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Jamal Shuler (191-86) fired 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Johan Passave-Ducteil (200-85, agency: Comsport) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four JSF Nanterre players scored in double figures. American forward Robert Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St.) produced 42 points (!!!) and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Garrius Holloman (198-89, college: Beth.-Cookman) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JSF Nanterre have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group E with 4-0 record. Loser Joensuun Kataja still closes the standings with four games lost. JSF Nanterre will face Benfica (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Joensuun Kataja will play against the league's second-placed Belfius Mons-Hainaut and hopes to get finally their first victory.
