Regular Season Round 5: Bakken - Fraport SKY 61-94

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked German Deutsche Bank Skyliners' (3-2) road victory over bottom-ranked Danish Bakken (0-5) in Aarhus 94-61 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Deutsche Bank Skyliners led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Bakken's 26. They outrebounded Bakken 35-21 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Deutsche Bank Skyliners shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. American guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. Center Johannes Voigtmann (210-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Deutsche Bank Skyliners players scored in double figures. Center Jonas Zohore Bergstedt (210-91) answered with 18 points and swingman Thomas Laerke (195-91) added 12 points in the effort for Bakken. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with Boras. Defending Danish champion Bakken still closes the standings with five games lost. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will face Boras Basket on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bakken will play against the league's leader Okapi Aalstar and hopes to get finally their first victory.
