Regular Season Round 5: KTP Basket - Le Mans 62-96

There was no surprise when 4th placed Finnish KTP-Basket (1-4) was outleveled by second ranked French Le Mans (4-1) in Kotka 96-62 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Le Mans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to KTP-Basket's 34. They outrebounded KTP-Basket 46-32 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Rodrigue Beaubois (186-88, agency: Comsport) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Shy Ely (193-87, college: Evansville) contributed with 18 points for the winners. American Lamonte Ulmer (198-86, college: Rhode Island) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import center Kenneth Simms (205-86, college: Cumberland, agency: Two Points) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for KTP-Basket. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Le Mans keep a position of Group G leader. KTP-Basket lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with four games lost. Le Mans will take on group's second-placed Angelico Biella at home in the next round. KTP-Basket will play against Antwerp Giants and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
