Second Stage Round 1: Enel Brindisi - Astana 74-65

Italian Enel Brindisi defeated Kazakhstan Astana at home 74-65. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-16. But Astana won second period 24-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Enel Brindisi dominated on the defensive end, holding Astana to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. American-Guyanese forward Delroy James (203-87, college: Rhode Island) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Enel Brindisi's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard J'Covan Brown (188-90, college: Texas) answered with 17 points and American-Azerbaijani forward Niklas Caner-Medley (203-83, college: Maryland, agency: Beo Basket) added 17 points (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Astana. Astana will play next round against strong CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu. Enel Brindisi will try to continue on its current victory against Okapi Aalstar on the road.
