Second Stage Round 3: Den Bosch - TU/Rock 78-77

There was a small surprise when Dutch Den Bosch (1-1) edged at home Estonian TU/Rock (1-2) 78-77 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 24-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Den Bosch dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to TU/Rock's 22 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American center Reggie Johnson (208-89, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Brandyn Curry (187-91, college: Harvard) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Den Bosch players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Valmo Kriisa (190-74) with 21 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and center Joosep Toome (208-85) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Den Bosch will face Avtodor in Saratov in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TU/Rock will play on the road against Deutsche Bank Skyliners in Frankfurt and hope to win that game.
