Second Stage Round 4: Antwerp - Trabzonspor 72-90

There was no surprise when 3rd ranked Belgian Antwerp Giants (1-3) were defeated at home by top-ranked Turkish Trabzonspor (4-0) 90-72 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 50-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll., agency: Beo Basket) fired 21 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Serbian forward Novica Velickovic (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Trabzonspor players scored in double figures. American forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason, agency: Court Side) produced 27 points and his fellow American import point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trabzonspor have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group L with 4-0 record. Loser Antwerp Giants keep the third place with three games lost. Trabzonspor will take on Enisey in Krasnoyarsk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Antwerp Giants will play on the road against Belfius Mons-Hainaut in Quaregnon.
