Second Stage Round 4: Avtodor - Den Bosch 89-85

Everything went according to plan in Saratov where first ranked Russian Avtodor (3-1) won against 3rd ranked Dutch Den Bosch (1-3) 89-85 on Tuesday. Den Bosch trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 28-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 85-89 at the end of the game. Avtodor made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Den Bosch was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Three Eye Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 assists for the winners. The other American import swingman Micah Downs (195-86, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. Five Avtodor players scored in double figures. Kees Akerboom (200-83, agency: Court Side) produced 28 points and American guard Brandyn Curry (187-91, college: Harvard) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Avtodor have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Avtodor maintains first position in Group K with 3-1 record, which they share with Fraport SKY. Den Bosch at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Avtodor will face bottom-ranked TU/Rock in Tartu in the next round. Den Bosch will play at home against the league's second-placed Deutsche Bank Skyliners.
