Second Stage Round 5: Enisey - Trabzonspor 96-82

Undefeated Turkish Trabzonspor (4-1) recorded its first loss in Krasnoyarsk. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Russian Enisey (3-2) 96-82. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Trabzonspor. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Group L. The game was mostly controlled by Enisey. Trabzonspor was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Enisey dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Trabzonspor's 26. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American-Bosnian point guard D.J. Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 assists for the winners and Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 21 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Enisey's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Congolese point guard Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American point guard Dee Bost (188-89, college: Mississippi St.) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Enisey maintains second place in Group L with 3-2 record behind leader Rovinari. Trabzonspor at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Enisey will play against Antwerp Giants (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Trabzonspor will play against Belfius Mons-Hainaut and hopes to get back on the winning track.
