Second Stage Round 5: Nanterre - Le Mans 85-68

EuroChallenge round 5 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Le Mans (3-2) against second ranked JSF Nanterre (3-2) 85-68 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Le Mans. It was a key game for the top position in Group J. JSF Nanterre dominated on the defensive end, holding Le Mans to just 6 points in second quarter. American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). American point guard T.J. Campbell (175-88, college: Portland) contributed with 8 points and 11 assists for the winners. Four JSF Nanterre players scored in double figures. JSF Nanterre's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke) answered with 22 points and DR Congolese-French Charles Kahudi (199-86, agency: Beo Basket) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Le Mans. JSF Nanterre keeps a position of Group J leader, which they share with defeated Le Mans. There is only one round left in the Second Stage. And it will be most important game for Le Mans this season. They will face strong Usak trying to make it back to the top of the standings. JSF Nanterre will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Gussing Knights on the road.
