Second Stage Round 6: Rovinari - Enel Brindisi 67-78

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Romanian CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu (4-2) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Italian Enel Brindisi (3-3) 78-67. Enel Brindisi therefore clinched the second position in Group I. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 46-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Enel Brindisi forced 20 CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu turnovers. American-Georgian point guard Jacob Pullen (185-89, college: Kansas St.) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Central African-American power forward James Mays (206-86, college: Clemson) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Enel Brindisi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan) with 17 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and his fellow American import guard Louis Darby (196-84, college: Long Beach St.) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
