Oliveirense celebrated the Proliga title. They outscored Maia Basket in the fourth game of the championship series tonight to claim the crown. Nuno Cortez (205-C-82) delivered 23 points and 6 rebounds to pace the winners.
It was never an easy battle for the hosts. Maia Basket stayed in front throughout the first half. The visitors gained a 21:20 lead after ten minutes. Maia Basket stayed aggressive in the second frame. They kept Oliveirense at bay posting a 37:35 halftime lead. But the home team turned things around in the second half. Oliveirense shut down defensively. They held Maia Basket to 15 points in the third quarter to take a 54:52 lead at the final intermission. The home side went on a deadly 22:9 rally in the fourth frame to seal the triumph at the end. Joao Abreu (179-G-83) delivered 19 points and 6 assists for Oliveirense. Joao Reveles (187-G-80) added 14 points for the winners. Nuno Marcal (205-F-75) responded with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Maia Basket. Paulo Diamantino (203-C-85) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.
