TSV 1880 Wasserburg won the first game of the championship series clearly with 69-56, but the second and the third game promised to be closer. In the second game, Eisvogel USC Freiburg lost unluckily by one point at home (66-67), but put everything in the last game since it was 'win or go home'. The third game was dominated offensively compared to the both first two games, but both teams showed great effort and fight on both ends on the court. Eisvogel USC Freiburg were able to get a little ahead in the first quarter with 18:21, and extended their lead at halftime (36:45). Also, in the third quarter TSV 1880 Wasserburg wasn't able to cut the lead down, and started the forth quarter with a 13-point-defizit (58:71). However, TSV 1880 Wasserburg didn't give up and was led by their two Americans, Sequoia Holmes (185-F-86, college: UNLV) and Tiffany Porter-Talbert (175-G-84, college: W.Kentucky), to cut the lead down to two points. Then it was once again Sarah Hayes (173-G-84, college: Brown) and Mirna Paunovic (185-F/C-76) on Eisvogel USC Freiburg's side, who scored 5points to bring Eisvogel USC Freiburg ahead by 7. A great steal and an intentional foul call against Eisvogel USC Freiburg gave TSV 1880 Wasserburg the chance to decrease the lead, which they did. TSV 1880 Wasserburg took the lead with only one minute to go, but it was enough. With another foul call against Eisvogel USC Freiburg, and TSV 1880 Wasserburg knocking down the free throws, they reached the final score 83:80 and are the new German Champion 2011, as well as the German Cup Winner 2011. TSV 1880 Wasserburg was led by their two americans Sequoia Holmes (25points, 12rebounds, 4assists) and Tiffany Porter-Talbert (21points, 10rebounds, 6steals). On Eisvogel USC Freiburg's side, the leading scorers were Mirna Paunovic (25points), Yvonne Turner (174-G-87, college: Nebraska) (19points, 7rebounds), and Sarah Hayes (18points, 14rebounds).
