Cedevita claimed the fourth consecutive A1 title. They rallied past their archrivals Cibona in the decisive fifth game of the championship series to defend the trophy. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Ryan Boatright went perfect from the stripe in the dying seconds to ice the victory. Cedevita outrebounded Cibona 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Cibona helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Ryan Boatright (183-92, college: Connecticut) who scored 22 points and 5 steals. The former international point guard Toni Katic (188-92, agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in 4 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Cedevita's coach Veljko Mrsic used entire bench in such tough game. The former international center Luka Zoric (211-84) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Scottie Reynolds (188-87, college: Villanova) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Cibona players scored in double figures. Cedevita take fourth straight Cup Kresimir Cosic, Miro Bilan MVP - Feb 19, 2017
Cedevita extended their dominance in the Croatian Cup Kresimir Cosic by beating Jolly JBS Sibenik 102-66 in the 2017 Finals to win fourth straight title. Miro Bilan (213-C-89, agency: BeoBasket) (213-C-89) finished with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in just 22 minutes and was named the MVP of the Final-Eight tournament. Ryan Boatright (183-PG-92, college: Connecticut) led all scorers with 16 points, Marko Tomas (201-G-85) added 15 points, all on 3-pointers, Ra'shad James (188-G-90, college: Kaiser) 13, Filip Kruslin (198-SG-89) 12 and Marko Arapovic (207-C/F-96) 10. After trailing 1-5, Cedevita scored seven consecutive points to go up 8-5 and never looked back from there. Jolly tied the score only once (8-8) and Cedevita took control of the game behind a 14-3 run for a 32-17 lead early in the second quarter. Cedevita shot 54-percent from the field (37-of-69) including 14-of-29 behind the 3-point line and outrebounded Jolly 44-26, picking up 14 offensive rebound. It was the first Croatian Cup finals for Jolly. Mike Scott (183-PG-93, college: Idaho) and Bruno Markulin (195-SF-92) both scored 13 points, Brandon Penn (203-F-90, college: Rider), Josip Bilinovac (191-SG-90) and Jozo Brkic (211-F/C-86) all posted 10 points.
