Cedevita sweep Cibona to clinch third straight Croatian Championship title - Jun 3, 2016
Cedevita defeated city rival Cibona 84-77 in Game 3 to claim the best-of-five series and won third third and fourth overall Croatian A1 League title. Miro Bilan (213-C-89) had 20 points and 12 rebounds, Luka Babic (201-SF-91) collected 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 asistss, Marko Arapovic (207-C/F-96) scored 14 points and Nemanja Gordic (192-PG-88) 12. Cibona was led by Ivan Siriscevic (198-G/F-87), who scored 22 points on shooting 6-of-10 from 3-point line. Nik Slavica (201-F-97) added 10 points. Cedevita, who never trailed, took their first double digit lead of the game at 19-8. Cibona went on an 11-0 run spanning the first and second quarters to tie it at 30. Cedevita responded with four straight points and then Fran Pilepic (193-G/F-89) made three straight 3-pointers for a 43-34 advantage. Filip Kruslin (198-SG-89) scored six consecutive points to cut the deficit to 40-43 and Cedevita answered with a 9-0 run for to go ahead 52-40 late in the first half. Cedvita led by 71-61 going into the final quarter and they were still ahead 81-71 going into the final two minites. Cibona halved the deficit and fouled Nemanja Gordic with 39 seconds left. He made just one of his two free throws, giving Cedevita an 83-77 lead. Cibona called a time-out, but they were not able to inbound the ball in time, and Cedevita took the possession to secure the win and the title.
Cedevita wins third straight Cup title - Feb 19, 2016
Cedevita won its third Croatian Cup Kresimir Cosic title with a 74-70 victory over the home team Zadar in front of a 9000 spectators. Fran Pilepic (193-G/F-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) came off the bench for 17 points on shooting 5-of-8 from the 3-point line for Cedevita, Marko Arapovic (207-C/F-96) added 11 points, James White (201-F/G-82, college: Cincinnati, agency: Three Eye Sports) and Miro Bilan (213-C-89) both scored 10 points. Zadar was led by Ivan Marinkovic (209-F/C-93) with a game-high 22 points and Ante Delas (200-G-88) posted 13 points. After trailing 13-16, Cedevita went on a 7-1 run to take a lead 23-17 in the second quarter and never looked back from there. Zadar tied the game at 45-45 midway through the third quarter, but Cedevita responded with a 14-4 run to go up 59-49 early in the final quarter. It was the largest lead of the night for either team. Zadar cut the deficit to 67-69 with 50 second left.
