Latvia - Bulgaria 71-74 Bulgaria closed the home tournament with the win at the U20 European Championship in Division B. Albena saw a 74:71 win of the local team over Latvia as Bulgaria finished with 4-4 record. Latvia meanwhile finished third with 5-3 record. It was the last game of the tournament and would not have changed a lot. Bulgaria however desired to win the game and to thank all the fans who came to support them. They opened the game with 27:20 lead, but Latvia reduced to 2 points at the halftime. The teams again exchanged the victories in the second half and were tied at 71:71 with a minute to go. Iva Georgieva (175-F/G-96) and Tyutyundzhieva Hristina scored the last points for the winners to bring the 4th victory for Bulgaria. Hristova Borislava produced 18 points to lead all the winners and Tyutyundzhieva Hristina as well as Kostova Iva had 15 each. Iva Georgieva delivered 12 points for the hosts. They added 16-8 rally in the second frame for 35:13 halftime advantage. Portugal however was too far to give up and replied with a 25-8 burst in the third period.
