Spain therefore claimed the fourth Gold medals in the last five editions of the championship. Spain dominated from start to finish in the title game. They recorded a 17:8 lead after ten minutes. The margin grew at 13-point mark at the interval 33:20. France cut the distance at 12-point mark at the final break. But Spain reacted with a 17:10 rally in the fourth quarter to ice the victory. Germany - Hungary 53-51 Germany nipped Hungary to finish in the 13th position in Lanzarote and therefore secure their Division A birth for the next season. Alina Hartmann (183-G-95) and Paulina Koerner (176-PG-96) accounted for 14 points each to pace the winners. Hungary accounted for a 16:10 lead after ten minutes. But Germany responded with an 18:4 rally in the second term to spur ahead. They accumulated a 9-point lead before the fourth term. Hungary narrowed the distance in the final period but Germany hung on to avoid the defeat. Ukraine - Czech Republic 66-96 Czech Republic sweetened the pill of Division B relegation with a comfortable victory over Ukraine in the final game of the championship.
