Spain - Serbia 69-50 Spain celebrated the fourth straight U20 title. They defeated Serbia in the championship game tonight. Iris Junio (185-G-99) scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the winners. Spain accumulated a 36:11 halftime lead. They boosted the gap at 28-point mark at the final intermission before allowing Serbia to narrow the gap a bit at the end. Maria Pendande (188-C-00) scored 16 points for the champions. Ivana Raca (188-F-99) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds for Serbia.

Holland - Italy 65-60 Netherlands stepped onto the pedestal in Sopron. They beat Italy to earn the Bronze medals. Laura Westerik (176-F-98) posted 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Dutch side. Italy enjoyed a 20:13 lead after ten minutes. But Netherlands went on a 17:10 run in the third term to even things up. They added 22 points in the fourth quarter to eke out win. Sweden - Portugal 47-71 Portugal wrapped up their Sopron campaign with a comfortable win over Sweden. Beatriz Jordao (185-C-99) stepped up with 21 points for the winners. Portugal accumulated a 34:28 halftime advantage. Portugal used a 15:5 run in the final frame to ice the victory. Mariana Silva had 13 points for Portugal. Helene Haegerstrand (185-F-99) topscored with 10 points for Sweden.
9-10 Place
Germany - Belgium 75-58 Germany ended in the 9th place in Sopron. They fired past Belgium in the final game at the tournament. Johanna Klug (190-F-98) recorded 18 points to lead the effort. Belgium accounted for a 23:18 lead after ten minutes. But Germany ignited a 43:26 run in the second half to seal the victory. Theresa Simon (180-G-98) notched 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Manon Descamps (175-SF-99) and Alice Bremer (186-C-00) banked in 12 points each for Belgium.

Latvia - Poland 71-57 Latvia earned the 11th position as they romped past Poland. Digna Strautmane (188-F-98) delivered 15 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists for the Baltic team. Latvia accumulated a 39:27 halftime lead. They followed with an 18:10 run in the fourth period to seal the win. Aleksa Gulbe (186-F-00) had 14 points for Latvia. Russia - Slovenia 86-71 Russia remained in Division A after they overcame Slovenia in the decisive game for survival. Eleonora Oleynikova (178-F-98) posted 22 points to lead the charge. Russia went on a 34:8 run in the second frame to gain a 22-point halftime lead. Slovenia narrowed the deficit in the second half but could not avoid the deficit. Victoria Cheren (187-F-98) produced 15 points and 13 rebounds for Russia. Zala Friskovec (178-G-99) answered with 21 points for Slovenia.

Croatia - Slovakia 52-68 Slovakia ended their Sopron campaign on a high note. They defeated Croatia to earn the 15th overall position. Sona Svetlikova (184-C-99) accounted for 18 points for the winners. Slovakia built a 38:32 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 10-point mark at the final break and never looked back en route to the win. Nikola Kovacikova (175-PG-99) had 17 points and 9 assists for Slovakia. Josipa Silov (171-PG-98) replied with 14 points for Croatia.

Quarterfinals
Serbia - Hungary 73-61 Serbia overwhelmed hosting Hungary to book their semifinal ticket. Ivana Raca (188-F-99) scored 17 points to pace the winners. Hungary dominated in the first half. The hosts recorded a 40:33 halftime lead. But Serbia turned things around in the second half. They went on a 21:9 run in the final period to secure the victory. Mina Djordjevic had 15 points for Serbia. Livia Gereben (183-F-99) answered with 18 points for Hungary.
Italy - Portugal 70-42 Italy cruised past Portugal to reach the semifinal stage. Olbis Futo Andre (190-C-98) posted 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Azzurri. Italy established a 36:23 halftime lead. They went on a 12:6 run in the third period to clear off for good. Constanza Verona and Lorela Cubaj (193-F-99) chipped in 10 points each for Italy. Ana Rodrigues and Luana Serranho (168-PG-99) replied with 9 points each for Portugal.
France - Spain 50-51 Iris Junio (185-G-99) sank a layup with just five seconds to go in regulation to propel Spain past France in a dramatic quarterfinal clash in Sopron. Aina Ayuso (175-G-99, college: Oregon) finished with 14 points to lead Spain in scoring. France jumped to a comfortable 15:4 lead after ten minutes. But Spain managed to regain control in the next periods. They pulled within one late in regulation and then capitalized on two free throw misses from Kadiatou Sissoko to set up Iris Junio winning basket. Junio delivered 12 points and 12 rebounds for Spain. Tima Pouye (176-F/G-99) answered with 15 points and 10 rebounds for France.
Sweden - Holland 66-74 Netherlands advanced into the semifinal stage after beating Sweden on Thursday. Noortje Driessen (178-SG-99) and Laura Westerik (176-F-98) scored 16 points each for the Dutch team. Netherlands accumulated a 42:33 halftime lead. They held Sweden to just 9 points in the third period and opened a 15-point advantage. Netherlands protected the margin throughout the final period and raced to the victory. Germany managed to pull within striking distance in the fourth quarter but France managed to eke out a tough win at the end. Maeva Djaldi Tabdi had 12 points for the winning team. Spain - Croatia 93-41 Spain cruised past Croatia to enter the next round of playoffs. Maria Pendande (188-C-00) delivered 14 points and 7 rebounds to pace the winners. Spain clinched a 39:23 halftime lead. They held Croatia to just 20 points in the second half and marched to the victory. Laura Pena (173-G-98) had 12 points in the win. Portugal - Poland 61-46 Portugal topped Poland to secure the quarterfinal berth. They accumulated an 18:12 lead after ten minutes. Russia - Sweden 79-84 Sweden topped Russia to advance into the quarterfinal stage. Cajsa Uhrstrom (180-G-99) was pivotal with 25 points for the Scandinavian team. Sweden jumped to a 27:19 lead after ten minutes. The teams stayed neck and neck in the next periods. Russia held Sweden to just 8 points in the fourth period and forced overtime. Slovenia - Germany 65-82 There was joy for Germany, who picked up a win at the third attempt with a 65-82 win against Slovenia. Theresa Simon (180-G-98) and Satou Sabally (193-F-98) combined for an impressive 46 points.
Russia - Serbia 75-63 Russia arguably produced the most impressive result of the last day of the Group phase. They knew a loss would against Serbia would leave them in last spot, but they dealt with the pressure as a 75-63 win against Serbia meant they ended up winning their Group. Viktoriia Zavialova (166-PG-98) scored team-high 13 points.
Group B
France - Slovakia 65-42 France also turned the defensive screw as they locked out Slovakia 65-42 as Tima Pouye (176-F/G-99) scored 16 points.
Italy - Sweden 66-45
Italy had no problems and crushed Sweden 66-45.
Group C
Hungary - Poland 56-36 Hosts Hungary are yet to taste defeat after they went 3-0 with another convincing success - this time shutting down Poland 56-36. Livia Gereben (183-F-99) was the star once more, dropping 18 points and 9 rebounds.
Latvia - Croatia 71-60 Latvia impressed by downing Croatia 71-60. Aleksa Gulbe (186-F-00) led the winners with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists.
Belgium - Portugal 59-73 Portugal ended group stage with a comfortable win over Belgium 73-59. Beatriz Jordao (185-C-99) scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds to secure the victory.

Slovenia - Serbia 65-72 There was a hard-fought 65-72 derby success for Serbia as they outlasted Slovenia, thanks mainly to the 9-of-14 shooting effort of Mina Djordjevic (02) who harvested 18 points.
Germany - Russia 67-72 Sevara Nuritdinova (163-PG-98) lit up the highlights reel in a big way on the first day of the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship to help Russia win a thriller.
Trailing by as many as 14 points to Germany, who were making their return to the top tier after winning Division B last summer, Nuritdinova was the difference-maker as she inspired a nail-biting 72-67 success. As well as hitting a dagger triple, she also handed out a number of sweet assists.

Sweden - France 36-74 France had no problems and crushed Sweden 74-36 thanks to Naomi Mbandu (185-SF-99)'s 14 points. Marie-Paule Foppossi (185-F-98) added double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lovisa Hjern (175-G-99) responded with team-high 9 points for Sweden.

Hungary - Croatia 86-51 Hungary crushed Croatia 86-51 thanks fo rgreat performance of Livia Gereben (183-F-99) who ended the game with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Matea Tadic (167-PG-99) and Andjela Katavic (177-SG-99) responded with 12 points each.
Poland - Latvia 62-70 Latvia defeated Poland 70-62. Three players ended the game with double digitis for Latvia - Dinija Pavelsone (178-G/F-98) scored 14, Digna Strautmane (188-F-98) and Aleksa Gulbe (186-F-00) added 12 each. Klaudia Niedzwiedzka (187-PF-98) had game-high 17 points for Poland.

Belgium - Holland 59-83 Netherlands came out on top in the battle of the Low Countries by beating neighbors Belgium 59-83 as Laura Westerik (176-F-98) erupted for 28 points.
Portugal - Spain 43-57 Spain were victorious in the battle of the Iberian Peninsula, outlasting Portugal 43-57. Maria Pendande (188-C-00) led the winners with 12 points, Maria Barneda (177-F-98) added 11. Luana Serranho (168-PG-99) and Beatriz Jordao (185-C-99) both scored 11 points for Portugal.

Ukraine - Bulgaria 78-72 Kristina Karp scored 20 points and pulled down 9 boards to lead Ukraine past Bulgaria. Ukraine eked out a 41:39 halftime lead. Czech Republic - Denmark 67-63 Czech Republic outscored Denmark to stay undefeated in Romania. Julie Pospisilova (172-G-99) came up with 22 points for the winners. Israel - Greece 71-67 Israel strengthened their position on the table with a 71-67 triumph over Greece, as Eden Rotberg (167-G-98) netted a game-high 18 points for the victorious Israeli team.
Lithuania - United Kingdom 54-65 Savannah Wilkinson (180-G-98) set a new tournament-high in Oradea with 34 points to help Great Britain jump-start their campaign with a 65-54 come-from-behind victory against the Baltic side, who had defeated Ukraine and Israel in previous games. Irekpitan Ozzy-Momodu (188-C-99) complemented the team's top scorer Wilkinson with a 15-point, 19-rebound double-double, while Laurita Jurciute (173-G-96) collected 14 points and 10 points in a losing effort for Lithuania.

Czech Republic - Iceland 104-36 There continues to be no stopping Czech Republic in Group B, with the unfortunate Iceland falling victim to their 104-36 offensive onslaught. Veronika Vorackova (184-SF-99) was in form again for the Czechs, tallying 15 points in just 15 minutes, as the team kept their perfect record intact, moving to 3-0
Denmark - Bulgaria 57-65 Bulgaria defeated Denmark 65-57 behind the trio of Katrin Stoichkova (180-F/C-99), Petya Boyadzhieva and Gergana Ivanova.
Turkey - Belarus 57-74 Mariya Vasilevko (183-F/C-99) fired Belarus to a 74-57 win over Turkey with 21 points and 7 rebounds.

United Kingdom - Romania 61-76 This was no problem for Romania to get second straight victory and go on the top of the standings with 2-0. They also send United Kingdom to the bottom of the table with 0-2 they share last place with Greece. Ukraine - Lithuania 77-80 What a game we saw! We got winners of the match after over-time and that was Lithuania. With 77:80 for final result (8:11 in OT) they managed to start this tournament with victory and 1-0 record, sending Ukraine to the bottom of the standings with 0-1 for now. Key play of this game was Livija Sakeviciute (188-C-99) who drawn a foul 13 seconds until the end of the OT and she was calm get one point into the basket. That was enough for +3 lead and Ukraine didn't managed do get this game to another overtime as Natalia Tsiubyk missed jump shot 7 seconds until the end.
