Slovenia - Spain 63-73
Spain celebrated the Gold medals in Matosinhos. They outscored Slovenia in the exciting Final. Angela Salvadores (178-PG-97, college: Duke, agency: ProDep Management) provided 19 points to lead the champions. The victory marked the fifth triumph for the Spanish team in the last six editions of the championship. Spain grabbed a 20:15 lead after the opening quarter. Slovenia pulled within a single point at halftime 36:37. Spain however held their opponents to just 11 points in the third term to boost the lead at 7-point mark. Spain dropped 19 points in the fourth period and got away with the win. Maria Perez delivered 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Maria Conde (187-F-97, college: Florida St.) added 14 points for Spain. Annamaria Prezelj (177-SG-97, agency: Lebedintsev Andriy) responded with 17 points for Slovenia. Zala Friskovec (174-G-99) had 14 points in the losing effort.
3-4 Place
France - Russia 59-80
Russia rallied past France to conquer Bronze medals in Matosinhos. Yulia Kozik (176-SG-97) came up with 18 points to pace the winners. France ensured an 18:11 lead after the opening frame. Russia however bounced back with a 26:16 rally in the second period. They followed with a 27:11 run in the third quarter to to boost the margin at 19-point mark. Russia controlled the tempo in the final quarter and marched to the podium. Evgeniya Frolkina (182-SF-97) netted 14 points in the win. Ornella Bankole (181-SF-97) responded with 17 points and 11 boards for les Bleues.

5-6 Place
Hungary - Italy 78-73
Hungary clinched the fifth overall position as they beat Italy in the final day of the championship. Debora Dubei (183-SF-97) scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the winners. Italy piled up a 36:31 halftime advantage. Hungary however responded with 47:37 second half run to sneak past their opponents. Nina Aho (177-PG-97) recorded 18 points for the winning side. Mariella Santucci (175-G-97) responded with 21 points for Italy.

7-8 Place
Belgium - Latvia 72-52
Belgium coasted past Latvia to end up in the seventh position. Betty Mununga (181-F/C-97) recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Belgium accumulated a 24:17 lead ten minutes into the game. Latvia narrowed the gap at halftime 37:33. Belgium used an 18:3 run in the third term to clear off for good. Serena-Lynn Geldof (197-C-97) had 14 points and 17 rebounds in the victory. Paula Strautmane (185-PF-97) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds for Latvia.

9-10 Place
Serbia - Poland 67-59
Jovana Nogic posted 23 points and 7 assists to lead Serbia past Poland in Matosinhos. Poland secured a 17:11 lead after the opening frame. But Serbia went on a 21:10 rally in the second term to take a 32:27 halftime advantage. They protected the lead throughout the second half and rallied to the win. Snezana Bogicevic (177-SG-97) accounted for 14 points in the victory. Zuzanna Puc (187-PF-97) answered with 20 points and 12 rebounds for Poland.
11-12 Place
Portugal - Sweden 48-52
Sweden held off Portugal to finish 11th in Matosinhos. Emilia Stocklassa (190-C-98) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds to pace the Scandinavian team. Portugal enjoyed a 28:23 halftime lead. Sweden pulled within 3 points at the final intermission. They used a 16:9 run in the fourth frame to seal the victory. Sofia Hagg (169-G-97) and Crystel Bittar (170-PG-98) delivered 11 points each for the winners. Carolina Goncalves (174-F-97) responded with 11 points for Portugal.

13-14 Place
Lithuania - Holland 56-74
Netherlands fired past Lithuania to stave off relegation. Ilse Kuijt (175-SG-99) stepped up with 26 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds to lead the Dutch team. Netherlands dominated throughout the bigger part of the game. They accounted for 42:23 halftime lead. Netherlands kept Lithuania at distance throughout the second half and marched to the vital victory. Janis Ndiba (183-F-97) posted 14 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists in the win. Laura Juskaite (187-C-97) responded with 17 points and 9 boards for Lithuania.

15-16 Place
Bosnia - Turkey 70-81
Turkey secured the 15th position at the championship as they rallied past Bosnia on the final day. Sevgi Uzun (170-PG-97, agency: LBM Management) recorded 34 points and 9 assists to pace the winners. Bosnia grabbed a 37:33 halftime lead. Turkey however erupted for 48 points in the second half and got away with a tough win. Slovenia beat France in overtime to reach the championship game in Matosinhos. Aleksandra Kroselj (168-PG-99) came up with 22 points to lead the winners. France jumped to a 20:11 lead ten minutes into the game. But Slovenia bounced back with a 19:12 rally in the second term to narrow the gap. Slovenia followed with a 19:16 run in the fourth period to force overtime. They sank 14 points in the extra period and secured the winning outcome. Larisa Ocvirk (184-SF-97) netted 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the winners. Ornella Bankole (181-SF-97) responded with 23 points and 10 rebounds for France.

Hungary clinched the second position in Group D following a comfortable win over Bosnia. Germany grabbed a 31:15 halftime lead. They maintained the advantage throughout the second half and raced to the victory. Anna Lappenkuper (173-G-98) tossed in 12 points in the win. Ukraine - Iceland 73-54
Ukraine stormed past Iceland for the opening victory at the championship. Olga Yatskovets (183-C-97) provided 24 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Ukraine built a 40:28 halftime lead. Czech Republic opened win count in Eilat. They toppled Ukraine for 1-1 record. Michaela Gaislerova (179-F-97) banked in 19 points for the winners. Ukraine enjoyed a narrow 23:21 lead ten minutes into the game. But Czech Republic took over in the next periods. They stormed ahead for a 41:35 halftime lead. Romania narrowed the gap at 3 points at the interval. But Great Britain turned things around in the second half. They ignited a 46:23 run after the big break to secure the winning outcome.
