Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga Awards 2010-11 - Jun 25, 2011
German Bundesliga belongs to one of the most dominated league by import players. It's mostly because of very liberal rules considering the number of import players per team. It's very common that the teams do not have any domestic player in the starting five. That's why like every year, the top players selected to season-end awards are mostly imports. The MVP goes definitely to American guard DaShaun Wood of league runner-up Deutsche Bank Skyliners. Wood was league's top scorer and second in the assists. He is joined at the guard position by his countryman Tyrese Rice. Thanks to Rice his team Art.Dragons made it to the league semifinals. Rice was second best scorer and was also in top 4 in assists. The best forward was (again) champion Brose's leader American Casey Jacobsen. Brose has a very balanced rosters with many players contributing to the final success. But Jacobsen (11.8ppg) belong also this season to best players in his team. Bundesliga finalist ALBA's Derrick Allen joins him at the forward position. Similarly like Brose, ALBA had also a very strong roster where Allen (13.0ppg, 4.1rpg and third best FGP in the league) could be considered a team's leader. The center of the year goes to another American John Bryant from 14th placed ratiopharm Ulm. He (maybe together with Roderick Trice) was the only star in the team which did not impress this season. But Bryant was the top league rebounder 10.9rpg, second best in blocks (1.5bpg) and added 14.6ppg. He was also selected Defensive player of the Year.
