Valur celebrate playoff title - Apr 13, 2017

    Valur - Hamar 109-62

Valur drubbed Hamar in the fifth game of the playoff Finals and secured Dominos League promotion. The game without a history. Valur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Valur outrebounded Hamar 57-33 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Valur made 9 blocks. American forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. Naturalized American guard Austin Bracey (190-90) contributed with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. American forward Chris Woods (195-89, college: Pfeiffer) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Erlendur Stefansson (190-95, college: Black Hills St.) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hamar. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
