Uralmash celebrate Superleague 1 title - May 3, 2022

Runa Basket - Uralmash 83-90

Uralmash clinched Superleague 1 title. They upset Runa Basket on the road to complete the sweep of the championship series. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-83. Uralmash dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Runa Basket's 26 and made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Runa Basket 35-21 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Uralmash looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Runa Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Justin Roberson (187-1993, college: ULM) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Javonte Douglas (203-1992, college: Montevallo) helped adding 20 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Fedor Klyuchnikov (193-1990) with 20 points and 8 assists and forward Artem Komissarov (199-1990, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

TSU earned the third position as they swept Samara. TSU players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Samara was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Denis Levshin (202-1993) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Azat Tukmakov (190-1996) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Guard Artem Isakov (192-1987) came up with 22 points and Alexey Nesterov (205-1988) added 7 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Samara in the defeat. Four Samara players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.
