Avangard overcame Avantazh-Pol. to celebrate the Higher League title. Avangard led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Avantazh-Politekhnik's 38. They outrebounded Avantazh-Politekhnik 44-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Maxim Balashov (190-80, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) nailed 23 points for the winning side and forward Vladlen Berezhnyy (199-95) accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Avangard players scored in double figures. Avangard's coach Andrei Podkovyrov allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international swingman Timur Arabadgi (193-81) came up with 31 points (made all of his seven free throws) and point guard Vasyl Sayniyev (180-89) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists respectively for Avantazh-Politekhnik in the defeat. Khimik-2 defeated Zolotoi Vek to clinch the third position in the Higher League. Zolotoi Vek was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 26-13 charge of Khimik-2, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Point guard Illya Sidorov (184-96) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 6 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals for the winners and Oleg Goncharov (193-94) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. At the losing side Gleb Buzko (193-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and forward Olexandr Drobiazko (196-93) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
