VolinBasket claim Ukrainian Cup title - May 13, 2013

VolinBasket celebrated the Ukrainian Cup title. They narrowly defeated Khartsyzsk 76:73 in the Final. Vadim Reka (206-F/C-83) stepped up with 16 points and 8 rebounds to pace the Lutsk team. The teams stayed close in the opening quarter. VolinBasket eked out an 18:16 lead after ten minutes. The Lutsk team boosted the lead to as many as 8 points at halftime 35:27. Khartsyzsk picked up the tempo in the third period. They fired 25 points in the quarter to narrow the gap at 3-point mark. The sides stayed neck and neck throughout the fourth period but VolinBasket proved the strength stealing a narrow victory at the end. Aleksander Korovyakov (200-F-81) delivered 13 points, while Dmitro Shvagrynskyi (196-F-89), Igor Dranchenko (191-G-89) and Edvard Fedchuk (180-PG-91) added 12 points each for the winners. Maxim Nikitin (201-F-89) answered with 15 points for Khartsyzsk. Pavlo Copich (180-PG-86) chipped in 12 points in the loss.
