Keravnos is the champion for the 2018-2019!! - May 4, 2019
Keravnos Strovolou against all odds won the champion and fulfilled a dreamy season as the first double after 22 years is now a fact!! Keravnos had a weird season as during the season the injuries, the changes of players and the bad luck of the team made the overall season quite unique. The team was very close to be eliminated by APOEL when (and even though the team had a home -team advantage) was running after the series after the break in Strovolos and with the series being 1-2, Keravnos found the strength and the physical power to overcome the injuries and the many issues, and fought back to finally win the series with 3-2 with an amazing come back and a break of APOEL's home court..
The finals against AEK Larnakas, the strongest and wealthiest term in the league was totally astonishing, since the Larnaka team thrashed in the first game the Strovolos team and everybody though that it would have been a home-court series. They were wrong!! Keravnos not only kept its home court but broke quite easily the home-court advantage of AEK Larnakas, to fulfil this afternoon the total recall!! Keravnos is the Champion for 208-2019 !!
The MVP of the finals was the naturalised Cyprus international power forward Anthony King (206-C/F-85, college: Miami, FL), who won his third double (in his Cyprus career) he scored 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists, with amazing stats as he had 8 to 10 two pointers, five out of five free throws and amazing defence..

Cyprus Super Cup: David beat Goliath - Oct 7, 2018
The amazing Etha Engomis and absolute outsider, under the coaching of the young and talented Hadi Elhajj beat the last season's champion team of AEK Larnakas and won the Cyprus Super Cup for the season 2018-2019 and for a second time in its history (the first one was back in 2011). In the game and for AEK Larnakas the newcomer Barry Steward played who replaced a day before his compatriot Trevor Releford.
The almighty team of AEK Larnakas the favorite team to win the Super cup couldn't stop the American point guard, Trevin Parks (180-PG-91, college: Johnson C. Smith) (the American 'speedy' point guard scored 31 points in his debut with Etha Engomis jersey) and finally lost the first title of the season (68-71).
The game was totally balanced at its initial stage but after the first 3-4 minutes, Parks and Thomas begun to 'introduced' themselves in the court after scoring 8 consecutive points to finally cut the gap at the end of the first period (mainly due to Jure Skific (202-F-88, agency: 011 Sports)) for 18-15
The second period was a 'battle' between Parks and Jure Skific with the American beating the Croatian and ending up in half time with 36-29 and AEK begun doubting the overall situation with Coach Koukouris having some real trouble from the American point point guard, who was very difficult to be 'caught'
The same story in the third period with the difference that Parks found a mirror in the offense as Chris Flemmings (196-G-93, college: NC-Wilmington) was there too, Jure Skific was trying but he was all alone as Petrovic was pointless, Davies was in a bad day and only Kyle Vinales (185-G-92, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: 011 Sports) was there but not seriously steady. The score went up to 12 points for ETHA 55-43 before a three pointer on behalf cut it to 9 at the end of the 3rd period, 55-46.
The fourth and most dramatic period was awesome as AEK with Kyle Vinales and Jure Skific not only balance the game but exactly 6.20'' before the end of the game with an amazing 2-12, took the lead for the first time in the game with 57-56. Parks was there for Etha and with another three pointer by Hill the score became 66-61, 1.30'' before the end. The psychology was with Etha Engomis with Coach Elhajj seeing his young talented Cypriot player, Papamichael scoring his only two points in the most crucial minutes of the game and upon AEK cutting the deficit to just one basket (68-66) and even though Jure Skific again dunk for the 70-68 the time was limited to end, Panagiotou simply scored the one of two free throws from the charity line to end the game with 71-68 and founding Etha Engomis the super cup holder!! The periods were: 15-18, 29-36, 46-55, 68-71 Scorers: Petrolina AEK (Head Coach Dimitris Koukouris): Jure Skific 21, Kyle Vinales 23, Davies 12, Biggs 7, Panteli 1, Steward 4. Etha Engomis (Head Coach Hadi Elhajj): Panagiotou 2, Thomas 10, Parks 31 (5 three pointers) Flemmings 15, Papamichael 2, Hill 9, Konstantinou 2
