They overcame Barcelos in an exhausting battle in the fifth decisive game of the championship series. Diogo Goncalves (200-F-87) and Nate Bowie (183-G-86, college: Cent.Arkansas) delivered 20 points each to pace Terceira to the trophy. Barcelos tried to stay in charge throughout the opening frame. They recorded an 18:16 lead after ten minutes. But Terceira struck right back in the second term. They stepped on the gas and claimed a 39:26 halftime advantage. Barcelos did not say die. The hosts changed the tempo and cut the deficit at just four points with one quarter remaining 45:49. Barcelos got within just one point 54:55 with three minutes to go in the game but Terceira cleared off once again and rallied to the victory at the end. Nate Bowie added 8 assists and 8 rebounds to his tally. Durrell Nevels (198-F-86, college: Cent.Arkansas) finished with 14 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. They stormed past Sangalhos at the Pavilion Desportos Anadia tonight. Nuno Pedroso (187-G-79) knocked down 16 points and grabbed 6 boards to lead the winners. Barcelos led from the start. They built an 18:10 lead ten minutes into the encounter. The low-scoring second term saw Barcelos maintain the lead. They arrived at halftime up by ten points 27:17. The teams increased the tempo in the third stanza. Barcelos had the upper hand as they nailed 23 points and entered the final quarter ahead by 15 points. Sangalhos never recovered in the final term as they notched just 7 points and surrendered at the end. Pedro Silva (198-F-79) provided 15 points and 11 rebounds for Barcelos.
