An interesting game for Haukar (25-2) which hosted in Hafnarfjordur second-best Hottur (22-5). First ranked Haukar managed to get a 4-point victory 86-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hottur. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hottur won third quarter 27-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hottur 44-25 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Haukar made 8 blocks. It was a good game for American guard Jeremy Smith (190-1991, college: Nicholls St.) who led his team to a victory with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Spanish point guard Jose Medina (185-1993) contributed with 20 points and 7 assists for the winners.
