Inter claim dramatic win over Komarno, win Extraliga title - Jun 1, 2013

Inter are back on top after 17 years of waiting. The Bratislava team nipped Komarno on the road in the decisive seventh game of the championship series and clinched the Extraliga crown. They celebrated the title last in 1995/96 season. Inter started the game strong. They dropped 26 points in the first period to gain a 3-point lead at the first break. The Bratislava team exploded with 27 points in the second period to open a 53:42 halftime advantage. But Komarno turned things around in the third period. They went on a 14:3 run early in the quarter to gain a 56:55 advantage. Komarno arrived at the final intermission up by six points 66:60. Inter denied the deficit and Graham put the visitors up by one 71:70 midway through the period. The lead changed hands for a couple of times before Nenad Milosevic (190-PG-83), Alando Tucker (198-F-84, agency: Priority Sports, college: Wisconsin) and Martin Rancik (204-F/C-78, college: Iowa St.) gave the visitors a 76:72 lead. Amin Stevens (201-F-90, college: Florida A&M) pulled Komarno within two 80:82 but the hosts simply ran out of time and lost the game. Martin Rancik fired 20 points to pace the winners. Alando Tucker added 19 points, while Nenad Milosevic had 11 points and 6 assists for the winners. Amin Stevens responded with 19 points and 8 boards for Komarno. Martin Bilik (194-G/F-87) chipped in 15 points in the loss.
Komarno clinched the Slovakian Cup title. They narrowly defeated Levice in the Final. Ondrej Soska (208-C-78) came up with the winning shot late in regulation. He finished with 19 points to pace the winners. Komarno started strong as they built a 27:19 lead after ten minutes. Komarno stretched the gap in the second frame. They piled up a 48:35 halftime advantage. But the hosts gradually improved their performance after the big break. Levice narrowed the gap at 12-point mark heading into the fourth frame. Levice got closer in the fourth frame. They eventually pulled ahead 74:73. But Ondrej Soska drained a crucial jumper to propel Komarno to the victory. Chris Lowe (182-PG-87, agency: KMG Sports Management, college: Massachusetts) chipped in 17 points, while Vincent Simpson (185-G-88, agency: R.H.Consultancy, college: Hampton) added 13 points for the winning side. Willie Kemp (188-PG-87, college: Memphis) answered with 17 points for Levice. Brandon Fields (193-G-88, college: Nevada) netted 14 points in the loss.
