Inter Bratislava is named Extraliga champions - May 11, 2014
Inter Bratislava has been named the Extraliga champions. The decision has been made however not in the sporting arenas. The third game of the series was awarded to Inter after an accident with the referee being injured. Prividza refused to take part in the fourth game of the series after the announcement of the Slovak Basketball Association. So Inter was automatically awarded with another victor and therefore swept the championship series. It marked the third championship trophy for Inter. They also became the first team in the Slovakian Extraliga history to defend their title.

Iskra Svit triumphed at the Slovakian Cup tourney. They outgunned Nitra in Bratislava to conquer the trophy. Wesley Channels (190-G-88, college: Austin Peay St.) delivered 27 points to pace the winners. Svit accumulated a 23:18 lead after the opening quarter. Nitra narrowed the gap in the second frame. They pulled within two points at the interval 39:37. But Svit held on to the lead in the third quarter. They raced to a 57:54 advantage heading into the fourth frame. Svit unloaded 25 points in the fourth stanza and snatched a tough victory at the end. Sasa Jankovic (204-F-84) chipped in 14 points, while Tyrone McNeal (213-C-85) added 12 points for the winning team. Sven Smajlagic (190-G-90) answered with 17 points for Nitra. Salih Nuhanovic (210-C-82) tossed in 14 points in the loss.
