Finals, Game 3: Cedevita - KK Zagreb CO 85-89 OT (0-3)

Zagreb is the new champion of Croatia. It is their first championship title in the club's history. Zagreb managed to beat Cedevita 85-89 on the road tonight and they needed an overtime to do it. The Finals series ended with 3-0, despite Cedevita had a home court advantage in this series. Zagreb celebrated twice on the road and once at home to win the trophy. It is important to mention that Zagreb already won the Croatian cup earlier this year.
The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 23-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-10. KK Zagreb CO made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). American guard Alex Renfroe (190-86, college: Belmont) helped adding 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five KK Zagreb CO players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Marino Bazdaric (197-78) with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Dontaye Draper (180-84, college: Charleston) scored 20 points.
Zagreb finished regular season as No.3 with 11-3 record and later they eliminated Zadar in the Semis. Zagreb will play in Euroleague next season.
