Dinamo is the new champion of Georgia! Dinamo crashed Kutaisi 91:58 in Game 4 of the final series and won the series 3:1. This is the 3rd time Dinamo become the champion. Dinamo won the national championship in 1991 for the first time, when Levan Moseshvili was a Dinamo coach, the second time of championship was in 2003 with the head coach Drajen Braikovic and this year, Dinamo worthy won Superleague 2013-2014 championship. Dinamo played the decisive game as it suited the champions. Khoshtaria team played so well that they didnt give Kutaisi any realistic hope or real chance. Kutaisi was leading only in the first 3 minutes when Barbakadze and Dvalishvili put their team on top 7:2. Dinamo played hard in defence and didnt let Kutaisi to score for the next 4 minutes. The hosts outscored their opponents 13:0 and got a reliable leading. Kutaisi was trying to change the situation with shooting from the perimeter as they couldnt stop Dinamos fast breaks. But Didia, Barbakadze and other Kutaisi players shoot the ball badly and on the contrary, Dinamo was great on the both sides of the court. No one could stop Stevan Milosevic (211-C-85, agency: Interperformances) in this final game. Keyon Carter (206-F-88, agency: Two Points, college: ODU) helped him from the second half and Giorgi Gamqrelidzekrelidze and Lejava also gave their team a great work. Dinamo built a 18-point lead up to play in the second half. And the third period was decisive when Dinamo increased their advantage stepped over the 30-point lead. This was when the game lost all its intrigue and bench players from both teams came out on the court. Stevan Milosevic scored his playoff-high 25 points with 11 rebounds to lead Dinamo, Keyon Carter scored 18 points, Giorgi Gamqrelidze was close to triple-double 15 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists (+4steals) and Mikheil Chochua (193-G-87) added 10 points. Akaki Dvalishvili (206-PF-90) had a team-high 15 points with 8 rebounds for Kutaisi and Avtandil Lominashvili scored 11 points. As the game was over, the celebration and award ceremony was held. The Vice-presidents of Georgian Basketball National Federation, Kakha Shengelia and Vladimer boisa awarded Kutaisi team with silver medals. The President Mikheil Gabrichidze and Secretary General Giorgi Kartvelishvili awarded the champions with gold medals. The captain of Dinamo team, Giorgi Gamqrelidze was awarded the National Championship Cup. Kutaisi won the Cup of Georgia - Mar 30, 2014
The Cup of Georgia has its new owner Kutiaisi defeated Sokhumi 81:66 in the final of the tournament and won this prestigious title for the first time in their clubs history. Kutaisi played in the final two years ago, but lost against Armia. Today they put team effort to take the Cup of Georgia to Kutaisi. The game was interesting, spectacular and equal for the whole three periods. None of these teams could make a serious run. Sokhumi started the third period in a good way and made a 38:32 leading. But Kutaisi overcame a great game from Giorgi Barbakadze (203-F-91), who scored 8points to lead his team to outscore Sokhumi 13:0 in the next 3 minutes and put his team on top 48:38. Sokhumi managed to close the gap with 2 minutes remaining in the third quarter, but it was all they could do. Zaur Pashayev and Davit Barbakadze (203-F-82) gave Kutaisi 58:49 leading in the end of the third frame. Kutaisi kept the pace and increased their leading in the last quarter. Sokhumi was left without chances. 6 of Kutaisi scorers passed the 10-point mark, Zaur Pashayev (188-G-83) had a team-high 18 points, Giorgi Barbakadze scored 16 points, Akaki Dvalishvili (206-PF-90) delivered a double-double of 16 points and 20 rebounds, Goga Tsekvava dished out 6 assists with 13 points. Vakhtang Kadaria (205-C-89, college: Mineral Area CC) finished with a game-high 23 points for Sokhumi and Jeremy Simmons (204-F-89, agency: Interperformances, college: Charleston) added 17 points. Giorgi Barbakadze became the MVP of Cup of Georgia. He was awarded the MVP cup by the President of Georgian National Basketball Federation, Mikheil Gabrichidze. Mikheil Gabrichidze awarded every player and coach with the special deeds and Kutaisi captain, Davit Barbakadze was awarded the Cup of Georgia by the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia, Levan Kipiani. All Star 2014
The 2014 Superleague All Star game was played on January 25 in Rustavi. This was the first time Rustavi hosted the All-Star Game.
All Star Game featured 24 of the leagues brightest stars. The five starters for both squads were selected via fan voting while the All-Star reserves were named by the coaches.
Rustavi court was full with fans, who enjoyed the great show, spectacular game played by the Superleague best players, interesting 3-points shootout and slam dunk contests.
Gymnasts team, rock group Hangover and group Hoopers, who performed a great acro-dunk show, made All Star Event more effective and impressive.
All Star Game
It was the usual free All-Star game, with no defense, with fast breaks, hustling, bustling, alley-oops, slams and blocks. Most of the 257 points (139:118) were scored by effective slams or combinations. The opening quarter was equal. From the second half Irakli Khoshtaria Team got a realiable leading and Kote Tugushi Team was playing uphill the rest of the game. But it was not important, as the game was mostly remembered for its stunts and slams.
Two big guys, Stevan Milosevic (211-C-85, agency: Interperformances) and Jeremy Simmons led their team to a 139:118 victory. They scored 63 points with 24 rebounds together. Giorgi Gamkrelidze dished out 14 assist, Beso Lejava finished with 17 points and Chochua and Qadaria both had 15-15 points.
Another big guy, Giorgi Jgerenaia (206-F-90, college: N.Georgia) paced Kote Tugushi Team with 24 points, Giorgi Barbakadze (203-F-91) scored 16 points and Merab Bokolishvili had 15.

Slam Dunk Contest
Grigol Shvangiradze (Sokhumi), Jeremy Simmons (Sokhumi) and Akaki Dvalishvili (Kutaisi) participated on the Slam Dunk Contest. Merab Bokolishvili from MIA Academy couldnt compete because of the injury.
Simmons and Dvalishvili both received the highest score from Ramaz Gogoberishvili, Mikheil Beruashvili and Irakli Japaridze in the first round and they competed head-to-head on the final after the All Star Game was finished.
This contest was supposed to have a real high level. The first round didnt show the winner as both participant got 30-30 points, Jeremy got 30 on the first attempt already. Dvalishvili needed three attempts to finish the first round of the final with the highest marks too.
but in the second round Jeremy Simmons deserved to be the winner with his dunks full of athletic exhibition. His amazing slams eclipsed Dvalishvilis dunks.
Three-Point Shootout Contest
Leagues 6 best 3-point shooters participated in contest. There was not a big difference in scores of Milos Pesic, Irakli Chlaidze, Giorgi Gamkrelidze and Mikheil Chochua, but Grigol Shvangiradze and Giorgi Barbakadze had the best results to move on to the final.
Giorgi Barbakadze couldnt defend his 2013 title. Grigol Shvangiradze with 15 points made the best score in a final round to defeat Barbakadze. This was the first 3-point shootout winner title for Shvangiradze.
Awarding
Dinamos big man, Stevan Milosevic was named the games most valuable player (MVP) as he poured in 29 points and 17 rebounds. President Georgian National Basketball Federation, Mikheil Gabrichidze awarded the All-Star Game MVP. Veteran basketball player and one of the best 3-point Georgian shooter, Gia Sanadze awarded Grigol Shvangiradze and the Vice-President of Federation, Vladimer Boisa rewarded the Jeremy Simmons. Kutaisi won the Supercup - Jun 3, 2014
Kutaisi won the Otar Korkia Supercup. They got a 80:74 win against Superleague Champion Dinamo and finished the season with a victory. This was the fourth time Kutaisi defeated Dinamo. They managed to win against Dinamo in both games of the regular season, Kutaisi defeated Dinamo in Game 3 of their final series and today, they got their fourth win. This year Kutaisi 2010 won the Cup of Georgia and Supercup and played the final of national championship for the first time in their history. So as Kutaisi coach, Medea Mkheidze said at post-game pressconference, they are satisfied with this season and their teams results. Kutaisi hadnt practiced after the finals and as the coach says, they managed to win with the help of their mobilization and dedication. The game was great and exciting, the both teams played equally and none of these could make a run. So the winner was uncertain till the last minutes. Kutaisi played more mobilized and got a 80:74 win. Giorgi Barbakadze (203-F-91) led Kutaisi with 22points, Akaki Dvalishvili (206-PF-90) delivered a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds and Davit Barbakadze (203-F-82) added 18 points.
