Albacomp defeat Szolnok to claim A Division title - Jun 2, 2013

Albacomp registered the victory in the decisive fifth game of the championship series and celebrated A Division title. Ronald Moore (183-PG-88, college: Siena) nailed 17 points to lead Albacomp past Szolnok. The teams stayed close in the intense first quarter. The scoreboard read 12:12 after the opening frame Albacomp pulled in front in the second frame. The hosts held Szolnok to 10 points in the period and gained a 29:22 lead at the interval. Szolnok narrowed the deficit at 4-point mark midway through the third term. But Albacomp finished it strong to gain a 54:44 advantage with ten minutes remaining. Akos Horvath and Sead Sehovic dragged the visitors within 5 points early in the fourth frame. The hosts answered with a 7:2 rally to restore a 10-point advantage 61:51. Ronald Moore and Jarrod Jones gave the home team a 74:61 lead within the final two minutes of regulation. Szolnok could not recover in the dying minutes as Albacomp rolled to the triumph. Brandon Wood (187-G-89, agency: N.E.T., college: Michigan St.) provided 15 points, while Damian Hollis (203-F-88, agency: Two Points, college: G.Washington) added 13 points in the win. Marton Bader (212-C-80, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) responded with 15 points for Szolnok. James Florence (185-G-88, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Mercer) chipped in 11 points in the loss.

Alba Fehervar celebrated the Morgen Ferdinand Cup title. They overcame Szolnoki in the Final. Jarrod Jones (205-F-90, college: Ball St.) came up with 18 points to lead the winners. Alba Fehervar cleared off early in the game. They built a 20:11 lead after ten minutes. Szolnoki struck back in the second quarter. They cut the deficit and trailed by just one point at the interval 35:34. But Alba Fehervar adjusted defensively in the third frame. They got away for a 7-point lead at the final intermission. Szolnoki could not recover in the fourth period as Alba Fehervar coasted to the victory. Kevin Smith (195-F-89, college: Richmond) netted 16 points, while Damian Hollis (203-F-88, agency: Two Points, college: G.Washington) added 9 points in the win. Sead Sehovic (196-G/F-89) answered with 14 points for Szolnoki. Akos Horvath (193-SG-81) netted 13 points in defeat.
