    Fribourg claimed SBL title. They snatched a narrow home win over Geneve Lions to win the championship series 4-1. Geneve Lions were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and was named the MVP. Former international swingman Dusan Mladjan (198-86, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Roberto Kovac (189-90) responded with 23 points and Swedish point guard Thomas Massamba (183-85) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Five Geneve Lions players scored in double figures.

    Fribourg needed overtime to beat Lugano Tigers 93-86 in the SBL Cup Final. Fribourg Olympic lifted the trophy in Montreux in front of 1800 fans.
    Both teams stayed close to each other in the majority of the game. Lugano Tigers took a 24-22 lead, while Fribourg Olympic answered with 23-22 rally in the second frame. They also tied the game after 30 minutes and then both teams nailed 15 points each in the fourth quarter. Due to 11-4 run in overtime, Fribourg Olympic managed to seal the trophy.
    Babacar Toure (205-C/F-85) stepped up with 26 points and Murphy Burnatowski (200-PF-90, college: Colgate) scored 20. Dusan Mladjan (198-G/F-86, agency: Interperformances) delivered 17 and Natan Jurkovitz (199-F-95) added 16. Dominique Rambo (183-PG-91, college: SAGU) replied with 22 points in the losing effort, whilst Westher Molteni (200-F-87) scored 18.

    What a great start of the season for Lions de Geneve and their new coach Vedran Bosnic as they clinched SuperCup 2017 title in Switzerland. Lions overcame BBC Monthey 80-65 as they led for the whole game. Lions de Geneve took a 22-29 lead and had a 45-36 halftime advantage. Lions de Geneve increased to a 21-point advantage with 15 minutes to go and also led 73-52 with 5 minutes to go. BBC Monthey managed to reduce to final 15 points, but could not catch up with the opponents.
    Marko Mladjan (205-PF-93) stepped up with 24 points and Marquis Addison (195-G-91, college: Missouri So., agency: XL Basketball Agency) netted 16. Lester Medford (178-PG-93, college: Baylor, agency: 3Eye) followed them with 13 points in the losing effort. Markel Humphrey (198-F-86, college: Marshall, agency: 3Eye) answered with 18 points in a loss, whilst Rodrigue Maza (208-PF-91, college: Academy of Art) delivered 13.

    Fribourg Olympic crowned Coupe de Suisse champions in Switzerland. In the Final game they overcame Lugano Tigers 92-72. Lugano Tigers looked better at the start of the game and took a 25-23 lead. Fribourg Olympic meanwhile replied with a 19-14 rally in the second frame to take a 42-39 halftime advantage. The latter dominated the second half posting two comfortable victories, 26-22 and 24-11 in the third and the last quarters respectively.
    Babacar Toure (205-C/F-85) top-scored for the winners with 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Murphy Burnatowski (200-PF-90, college: Colgate) netted 17. Natan Jurkovitz (199-F-95) scored 11 and Chad Timberlake (194-G-84, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: BeoBasket) had 10.
