Melilla Baloncesto claimed the LEB Gold playoff title. They defeated Penas Huesca in the third game of the championship to complete the sweep. Asier Zengotitabengoa (201-F-88) posted 17 points to lead the winners. Melilla eked out a 22:20 lead after the opening quarter. The teams traded baskets throughout the second frame. Melilla ensured a 38:36 halftime advantage. Melilla stretched the margin at 5-point mark heading into the fourth quarter. However Goran Huskic (210-C-92, college: Howard Col., TX) and Cristian Diaz (185-PG-92) allowed Penas Huesca to stick around. The hosts erased the deficit and forced overtime. However Melilla sank 14 points in the extra period and secured the trophy. Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca (212-C-83) grabbed 8 rebounds for the champions. Goran Huskic responded with 24 points and 11 rebounds for Penas Huesca.
Palencia clinch Copa Princesa 2016 - Feb 1, 2016

Palencia earned the Copa Princesa 2016 title. They overcame Melilla Baloncesto in double-overtime drama. Daniel Rodriguez (182-PG-84) scored 30 points to pace the winners. He was named the MVP. Melilla recorded a 40:32 halftime lead. Palencia picked up the tempo in the third term. They held their opponents to just 12 points to spur ahead for a 3-point lead. But Melilla bounced back to even things up at the end of regulation. The first overtime did not decide on the winners. Palencia however dropped 13 points in the second extra period and got away with the trophy. Urko Otegui (203-F/C-81) had 16 points, while Marc Blanch (195-F-82) produced 12 points for the winners. Pablo Almazan (202-SF-89) responded with 20 points for Melilla. Josep Franch (193-PG-91) had 17 points in the loss.
