Hapoel Jerusalem clinched the Winner League title. They overcame Hapoel Eilat in the second leg of the championship series and celebrated the first ever Winner League trophy. Bracey Wright was named the Finals MVP. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 52-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Hapoel Jerusalem looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American-Venezuelan Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and international Elishay Kadir (202-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi Tel-Aviv triumphed in the Israeli Cup. They prevailed against Hapoel Jerusalem in the Final in front of 11000 fans tonight. Devin Smith (196-G/F-83, college: Virginia) was pivotal with 27 points and 7 rebounds for Maccabi. The teams stayed nip and tuck throughout the opening quarter. Maccabi snatched a 22:21 lead ten minutes into the Final. They extended the margin in the second period. Maccabi dropped 24 points to gain a 46:42 halftime advantage. The Tel-Aviv team cleared off in the third term. Maccabi exploded with 27 points to pile up an 18-point lead at the final intermission. Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi traded baskets throughout the fourth term as the latter cruised to the win. Brian Randle (203-F-85) tossed in 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, while Jeremy Pargo (188-PG-86, college: Gonzaga) delivered 13 points for Maccabi. Team Israel earned a narrow victory in the 2015 Winner League All-Star Game. They held off Team World in overtime. Robert Rothbart (217-C-86, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the winners. He was named the MVP. The teams were knotted at 30 after the opening quarter. Import Team pulled ahead in the second frame. They accumulated a 73:61 halftime advantage. But Team Israel turned things around in the third period. They went on a strong rally to gain a 95:92 lead at the third break. Team World erased the deficit in the fourth frame and forced overtime. Team Israel however outgunned their opponents 4:3 in the extra period to ice the win. Elishay Kadir (202-PF-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) had 17 points, while Halperin and Lior Eliyahu (205-F-85) added 14 points each for the winners. Josh Selby (188-PG-91, college: Kansas) responded with 23 points and 11 assists for Team World. Tony Crocker (200-SF-87, college: Oklahoma) had 20 points in the defeat. Mark Lyons (185-G-89, college: Arizona) celebrated victory in a traditional Slam Dunk Contest.
