Souffel claimed the NM1 title. They prevailed against Blois in an overtime drama to clinch ProB ticket. Abdoulaye N'Diaye stepped up with 24 points to pace the winners. Souffel spurred ahead in the opening quarter. The hosts claimed a 22:18 lead after ten minutes. But Blois gradually picked up the tempo. The visitors narrowed the deficit at 3-point mark at halftime 38:41. Blois denied the deficit in the third period. The visitors tied things up at 59 with one quarter remaining. Jeremy Tschamber (192-G-84) gave Souffel a 76:75 lead with 30 seconds remaining in regulation. But Tornato answered with a free throw to level things up at 76 and forced overtime. Souffel opened the extra period on an 8:2 run to clear off. Ville Kaunisto (205-F-82) drained a three-pointer to put Blois back into this one however Jeremy Tschamber and Cazenobe sank three free throws late in overtime to carry the hosts to the victory. Frederic Minet (188-G-81) netted 15 points, while Jeremy Tschamber added 14 points for the winners. Ville Kaunisto responded with 31 points and 9 rebounds for Blois. Daviin Davis (193-G/F-85, college: Weber St.) had 15 points in the loss.

The Regular Season in NM1 just ended.
The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Orchesien BC (27-7) on the court of thirteenth ranked Angers BC 49 on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Angers BC 49 90-70. The game was mostly controlled by Angers BC 49. Orchesien BC managed to win third quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Angers BC 49 looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 9 rebounds. Center Maxime Chupin (205-89, college: Cal-Irvine) contributed with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Center Olivier Gouez (217-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds for Orchesien BC. Angers BC 49 (16-18) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with St Chamond. Orchesien BC lost third consecutive game. They still keep top position with seven games lost. Important game to mention about took place in Chartres. Eleventh ranked Chartres (17-17) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 12th ranked Saint Chamond (16-18) 75-74 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint Chamond. Bosnian guard Milan Vasic (195-77) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and Ljubomir Avramovic chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (205-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chartres moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Sorgues. Saint Chamond at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Angers BC 49. Higher ranked La Rochelle lost to fourteenth ranked Vendee Challans in a road game 72-85 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of La Rochelle. Fabien Herard notched 25 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) to lead the effort. Even 16 points by Amy M'Boma did not help to save the game for La Rochelle. The game between 16th ranked CFBB (4-30) and third ranked JA Vichy (25-9) in Paris ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Vichy outscored CFBB 77-36. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JA Vichy have a solid three-game winning streak.
