Maccabi Haifa are crowned new Winner League champions. They stunned Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Final tonight. Pat Calathes (208-G/F-85, college: St.Joseph's) stepped up with 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the winners.
Maccabi Haifa led throughout the bigger part of the opening quarter. But Hickman and Landesberg allowed Tel-Aviv to snatch a 25:24 lead after ten minutes. Maccabi Haifa capitalized on several mistakes from Tel-Aviv early in the second term to pull in front. Soon Donta Smith helped Haifa to a 32:25 advantage. However Tel-Aviv finished the half strong and recorded a 42:37 advantage. The teams stayed neck and neck throughout the third period. Maccabi Tel-Aviv eked out a 58:57 advantage heading into the final term. James Thomas and Gal Mekel (190-PG-88, college: Wichita St.) put Haifa in front 69:65 midway through the fourth frame. Paul Stoll (180-PG-85) followed with a three-pointer to give Haifa a 72:66 advantage. Soon the gap grew at 7-point mark. Haifa held on to the advantage in the final seconds and celebrated a historic first ever triumph at the end. Gal Mekel finished with 21 points and 7 assists, while Paul Stoll added 14 points for Maccabi Haifa. Ricky Hickman (189-PG-85, college: NC-Greensboro) answered with 28 points for Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Shawn James (207-C-83, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices, college: Northeastern) and Lior Eliyahu (206-SF-85, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) had 10 points each in the loss.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv clinched the Israeli Cup title. It was the 40th Cup title in Maccabi Tel-Aviv history. Ricky Hickman (189-PG-85, college: NC-Greensboro) stepped up with 15 points to pace the winners.
Maccabi Tel-Aviv started the game strong. They fired 25 points in the opening quarter to take a 7-point lead. The margin grew wider in the second term. Maccabi Tel-Aviv piled up a 42:31 halftime buffer. Maccabi Haifa refused to give up though. They turned things around in the third term. Haifa relied on an aggressive defence and it paid off. They limited Tel-Aviv to just 10 points in the period and narrow the deficit to just 4 points with ten minutes remaining. James Thomas tied things up at 55 early in the fourth frame. Donte Smith (180-G-88) and Gal Mekel (190-PG-88, college: Wichita St.) made it 61:57 for Haifa midway through the period. But Maccabi Tel-Aviv responded with 9 points in a row to take a 66:61 lead. They soon opened a 7-point lead and held on to eke out win at the end. Devin Smith (196-G/F-83, college: Virginia) netted 13 points, while Yogev Ohayon (187-PG-87) provided 12 points in the winning case. Gal Mekel responded with 28 points for Maccabi Haifa. Donte Smith chipped in 15 points in the loss.
