Fenerbahce take TBL title with no Game 7 played - Jun 19, 2014
Fenerbahce have been awarded the TBL title. They have been proclaimed the champions in a weird sequence of events that led to Galatasay refusal to play in Game 7 of the title series. The security issues in the Fenerbahce arena were cited as the main reason for the refusal. Galatasaray were also not happy with the referees appointed for the game as well as the fine awarded to Fenerbahce after Game 5 incidents. Galatasaray sent an appeal to the TBL however after getting no answer decided not to show up for the decisive game in the Finals. Fenerbahce gained an automatic 20-0 victory and therefore became the TBL champions.

Pinar Karsiyaka celebrated the Turkish Cup title. They held off Anadolu Efes in the exciting title clash. Bobby Dixon (178-PG-83, agency: Beo Basket, college: Troy) scored 19 points, issued 6 assists and grabbed 5 boards to orchestrate the victory. He also accounted for a late free throw to seal the victory for Karsiyaka. The lead changed hands for several times throughout the opening quarter. Pinar Karsiyaka came out on top taking a 20:16 advantage. They stretched the gap at 9-point mark midway through the second term. But Anadolu Efes denied the deficit and leveled things up at 35 after twenty minutes. The teams went neck and neck throughout the third term. Anadolu Efes eked out a 53:52 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Karsiyaka erased the deficit and surged ahead for a 65:62 lead with 37 seconds to go in regulation. Zoran Planinic (198-G-82, agency: XL Basketball Agency) sank three free throws to knot things up. But Bobby Dixon got fouled and calmly sank the first freebie to win the game for Karsiyaka. Esteban Batista (208-C/F-83, agency: Duran International) provided 14 points, while Jon Diebler (198-G-88, college: Ohio St.) added 9 points for the winning side. Zoran Planinic answered with 17 points for Anadolu Efes. Kerem Gonlum (208-PF-77) and Kostas Vasiliadis (200-G/F-84) delivered 12 points each in the loss.

Approximately 7500 basketball fans gathered at the Servet Tazegul Sports Hall in Mersin to enjoy three-point shoot-out and slam dunk contest that were being held on the All-Star Weekend programme.The show was highlighted by the All-Star game that the best players of TBL gathered. After the contest, Turkish players and Import players had the match. Semih Erden (211-F/C-86) was named the MVP of game. He collected 20 points 8 rebounds, Muratcan Guler helped 17 points, Kerem Tunceri added 13 points and 6 assists for the winner. Carlos Arroyo came up with double-double 11 points and 11 assists, Marcus Denmon scored 15 points, Troy Devries added 13 points for import players.
Kirk Penney from Trabzonspor Medikal Park won the three-point shoot-out contest.
Terrico White from Royal Hali Gaziantep triumphed in the Slam Dunk contest.

Fenerbahce beat rivals Galatasaray in SuperCup thriller. Obradovics team grabbed the first title with a 64:62 win. Emir Preldzic (205-SF-87, agency: Beo Basket) made the decisive basket for the winning side. Galatasaray won the first period 19-16 and then added 18-17 before the halftime. Both teams scored 11 points each in the defensive third period as Galatasaray entered the last stanza with a 4-point lead. Fenerbahce however needed a 20-14 rally in the last stanza to win the game.
