Budivelnyk outscored Khimik in the fourth game of the title series and clinched the Superleague title. It was the second straight and the third in the last four seasons title for the Kyiv outfit. Darjus Lavrinovic was named Superleague MVP after the game. Khimik was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 30-20 charge of Budivelnyk, which allowed them to win the game. They made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Khimik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). American forward DaJuan Summers (203-88, college: Georgetown, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. American guard Jamal Shuler (191-86) replied with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import Romeo Travis (201-84, college: Akron) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Khimik. Khimik's coach Karlis Muiznieks rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Budivelnyk triumph in Cup Final game as they edged Donetsk in Kiev. The team from the capital posted a 96:88 win for the first trophy of the new season. Budivelnyk won the first period 25-19, but Donetsk replied with a 31-28 rally in the second quarter. The third period was decisive in the game as Budivelnyk needed a 27-16 surge for 14-point lead after thirty minutes. Donetsk replied with a 22-16 run in the last period and reduced to final 96:88 result. DaJuan Summers (203-F-88, agency: Priority Sports, college: Georgetown) top-scored for the winners with 25 points and Darjus Lavrinovic (212-C-79) nailed 15. Blake Ahearn (188-PG-84, college: Missouri St.) poured in 14, whilst Ricky Minard (196-F/G-82, college: Morehead St.) and Janis Strelnieks (191-PG-89) added 13 each. Bernard King (196-G-81, college: Texas A&M) replied with 26 points in a loss and Marco Killingsworth (203-F/C-82, college: Indiana) produced 20. Ben McCauley (206-F/C-86, college: N.Carolina St.) delivered 19, whilst Georgi Tsintsadze and Denis Ikovlev (199-SF-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, college: Nevada) brought 8 each. Darjus Lavrinovic was named MVP of the Finals.
