Falco KC trailed by 15 points at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 27-16 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 71-78 at the end of the game. American forward Winston Shepard (203-93, college: San Diego St., agency: Diamond Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. International power forward Akos Keller (208-89) contributed with 9 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Darrin Govens (185-88, college: St.Joseph's) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and international guard Benedek Varadi (195-95) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Falco KC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alba Fehervar claimed the Hungarian Cup title. They narrowly overcame Szolnok in the Final tonight. Peter Lorant (206-F/C-85, agency: Octagon Europe) came up for Alba with go-ahead basket with just 12 seconds left in regulation to ice the victory for Alba. Szolnok claimed an 18:14 lead after the opening quarter. Alba Fehervar stormed in front in the second term. They jumped to a 35:32 halftime lead. Szolnok cut the deficit in the third term. They got within 2 points at the final intermission 48:46. Milos Borisov (201-G/F-85) gave Szolnok a 58:57 lead late in regulation. But Peter Lorant stepped up for Alba in the crunch time and led them to the triumph. Justin Edwards (190-G-92, college: Kansas St.) and Winston Shepard (203-F-93, college: San Diego St., agency: Diamond Sports) delivered 12 points each for the winners.
