Le Mans claimed the fifth ProA title in the team's history. They rolled past Monaco on the road in the decisive fifth game of the championship series to conquer the historic trophy. Justin Cobbs (190-G-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) posted 16 points to lead the champions. Monaco got to a confident start. The hosts poured in 28 points in the first quarter to ensure an 11-point lead. But Le Mans stiffened defensively in the second frame. They held Monaco to 11 points to pull within 4 points at halftime 39:35. Le Mans worked hard in the third term and managed to get as close as one point at the final intermission. Le Mans spurred ahead in the fourth period. The visitors accumulated a 71:63 lead midway through the quarter. Paul Lacombe (190-G-90, agency: BeoBasket) dragged the hosts back within three points 68:71. Paul Lacombe got Monaco within two 70:72 with just over a minute to go. Cobbs made it 76:72 for Le Mans inside final 20 seconds. Paul Lacombe narrowed the gap but then his buzzer-beating attempt missed the mark and Le Mans got away with the trophy. Romeo Travis (198-PF-84, college: Akron) finished with 14 points, while Antoine Eito (186-G-88) added 11 points for the champions. Paul Lacombe answered with game-high 21 points for Monaco.
